GENGHIS TRON Forced To Cancel Shows Due To Van Accident
March 21, 2008Philadelphia's progressive noise-metal shredders GENGHIS TRON were involved in a freak van accident yesterday, and although all passengers are OK, the bands van and trailer are in need of serious repair. As a result, GENGHIS TRON has been forced to cancel its shows in Butler, PA last night and Philadelphia, PA tonight.
GENGHIS TRON issued the following statement this morning regarding the accident: "Deja vu. For the second time in GENGHIS TRON's career we got into a pretty harrowing car accident. Yesterday afternoon while driving on I-71 in Ohio, the rear right wheel of our van decided to jump ship. We spun out across three lanes of busy traffic and landed in a ditch in the median. Somehow we managed to avoid all other cars and luckily no one was injured, but our van and trailer have certainly seen better days.
"We've set up a PayPal donation button on our MySpace page to help us get back on the road in time for next week's tour with CONVERGE. You can also send donations to [email protected]. Every little bit helps...thanks in advance and make sure your tires aren't dickwads like ours!"
GENGHIS TRON is currently touring in support of their acclaimed new album, "Board Up The House". These cancelled dates were the last of the band's headlining shows returning from the South by Southwest music and media conference. GENGHIS TRON will be joining CONVERGE and THE RED CHORD next week for a full U.S. tour followed by a GENGHIS TRON headlining tour in Europe.
